The Bread Box recipe is based on that of a Southbridge MA, family of French Canadian descent. Slow cooked meat and seasonings all wrapped up in a homemade shortcrust pastry.
Meats are sourced from Ed Stearns Dressed Meats, Charlton MA - beef & pork are grain fed, and free from antibiotics or hormones. All meats minimally processed & butchered on site. Crust ingredients are non-GMO and free of preservatives.
Filling: Ground beef (Stearns), ground pork (Stearns), onion, sweet potato, water, garlic, salt, thyme, sage, pepper, ground cloves. Pastry: King Arthur All-purpose flour (unbleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mono nitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), lard, butter (cream), water, salt. Egg glaze.
